Police issue E-fit following serious sex attack

Police have issued an E-fit following what has been described as a serious sexual assault in Odiham.

A mother and her three-year-old son were playing on Broad Oak Common at about 2pm on Wednesday when a man approached them.

He asked the 40-year-old woman whether she had seen his dog and she said that she had noticed a poster for a missing Labrador.

The man said that his dog was a spaniel and then made an indecent suggestion and seriously assaulted the woman.

The woman and her son were able to run away.

Det Con Helen Calton, Aldershot CID said: “This was a violent, unprovoked attack which could have been even more serious had the woman not managed to escape.

“The woman genuinely feared for her life and told her young son to run away because she did not want him to witness the attack.”

The man is described as white, in his 30s and about 5ft 10in tall with a stocky build and short dark hair. He was wearing jeans and a zip up top.

Anyone with information should call DC Calton at Aldershot CID on 0845 45 45 45 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
