Bingo is much needed and far from a mindless gameI was amused but slightly saddened to read in your paper the comments of David Clifford, councillor for Empress ward, who said that bingo is a mindless game of chance et cetera.
He went on to say that he saw Farnborough as more of a theatre venue. Well, no doubt it is when he addresses council meetings. Seriously though, Farnborough had a wonderful little theatre for years — The Prince Regent — sadly gone but not forgotten. Theatres, however, need people to patronise them, at least monthly, for them to exist.
Bingo on the other hand is very well supported and is much needed by many of my friends who are far from ‘mindless’. Wake up David and do not insult those who you may need to vote for you in the future.
