Letters
Extra flights will bring benefits for FarnboroughHow I agree with Mr Welch (Letters, February 2). I’m a not-completely-silent member of the majority who support extra flying — at least I wrote to the council in support of the TAG application.
My family’s 60-year history in Farnborough is based on flying. I enjoy living here, I’m proud to live here and I’m happy with what TAG will achieve for the area with its proposals. I live almost directly under the flight path and, far from visiting children being afraid of the aircraft, they run round waving to them, begging for more.
We had an Air Show Open House day so that as many friends as wanted to could be with us for the flying. At weekends when we’re working in the garden, we stop to look at whatever is flying in and I’d be more than pleased if there were twice as many movements. The noise is insignificant.
Farnborough is flying and more flying can only benefit the town. Bring it on, I say.
